Terms of service

These terms apply to every chamber and user of Ruvara. Where a chamber has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement takes priority over these terms where they differ.

1. The service

Ruvara is an online system for storing, reading, organising and searching a law chamber's case files. We may improve and change it over time; we will not remove a core feature a chamber depends on without reasonable notice.

2. Accounts

A chamber is responsible for who it gives accounts to, for the roles it assigns, and for removing access when someone leaves. Each user must keep their password and authenticator private and tell the chamber at once if they suspect misuse.

3. Your content stays yours

Everything a chamber uploads remains the chamber's property. We use it only to provide the service to that chamber. The chamber is responsible for having the right to store the documents it uploads, and for complying with its own professional and legal duties about them.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to try to reach data you are not permitted to see, to probe or disrupt its security, or to upload malicious software.

5. Confidentiality

We treat every chamber's content as confidential, access it only as needed to run and support the service, and hold everyone who works with us to the same duty.

6. Availability and backups

We work to keep the service available at all times and take daily backups, but no online service can promise to be uninterrupted. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where possible.

7. Subscription and fees

Ruvara is provided on a monthly or yearly subscription, billed in advance at the price shown when the chamber subscribes or as agreed in writing. A subscription renews for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date. There are no licence keys and nothing to install.

If a payment is missed, we will remind the chamber and allow a reasonable grace period before limiting access. Even then, the chamber can always sign in to export its files: we will never delete a chamber's data for non-payment without first giving it the chance to take a full copy.

8. Leaving

A chamber may stop using the service at any time and take a full export of its files. We will delete its data as described in our privacy notice.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the chamber paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
